80's baby, 90's made me.

Rough around the edges

Hello, I assume you stumbled upon my website through a Greater Divine Power, or at least I like to think that. I created this website in hopes that it will allow me to be more transparent and freely express my thoughts and dreams. If you didn't know I am Dreamer, a free-thinker, an artist, and most importantly - a musician.

I have a burning passion for music that ignites my entire soul with every song I get to write or sing, I also enjoy indulging in the music that was created before my time. Soul RnB is where my heart is so if anyone was to compare me to any artist of this time would be very hard.

Heavily influenced by the 90's era of music but saturated with the passion and soul of Old School RnB, I can't really pinpoint what my sound is if one were to ask. I would just say I grew up singing in church and my parents played the smooth sounds of classic RnB.

"Growing up in the 90's when our parents were listening to music from artists like Anita Baker, Brian McKnight, Luther Vandross, Tony Braxton, Babyface and Michael Jackson, its hard not be heavily influenced by that era of music."

I started writing poetry at the age of 9, and eventually my gift of writing collided with my gift of music. I began to learn to transform my poems into melodies until they were complete songs. I didn't know if it was any good, but it felt good expressing myself and that's all that mattered to me.

"When I was growing up my mom would buy me journals and I would just write for hours about anything and it eventually turn into me writing poetry."

"The first poem I remember writing was at the age of 9 and it was dedicated to my late grandmother, (Senator) Roxanne Jones."

I went on to attend Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, NC where I completed my Highschool education majoring in Dance, because it was always what my mother wanted me to be to follow in her footsteps. Although, I loved dancing, I got my start at recording music at the age of 16 when I got the opportunity to work with a production team out of Charlotte, NC who was looking to form and develop an all girls group. Although, it didn't last long its what gave me the confidence to pursue a career in music. Up until then, I was known as a dancer and not many people knew I could sing.

"I remember singing over the phone on a 2 way call, and was then invited to come to the studio to audition for the girl group. Myself and 2 other girls from my school  auditioned and were immediately chosen to be in the group together. "

Years later I gave music another shot in 2014 jumping back into the studio and shortly after,  released my first single Vicky's Secret. Since then I have cultivated my gift, discovered what my Purpose is in Music.

Creating my own lane and balancing being a mother and music artist , has been tough but I've managed to do so. Through my discovery of myself I have learned that we each hold the Power to our own destinies. There is nothing that is impossible and if you believe in yourself and believe that your dreams are merely the gateways to your own destiny and the only Purpose you have on this earth is to Fulfill your Destiny!

I invite you to join me on my journey and I hope to inspire you to have the courage to step out on Faith, and know that with God anything is Possible. I challenge you to discover what your Purpose is ... and when you figure it out I want you to hold on to it tightly and never let it go.
